COMMUNITY HIKES

Community hikes are designed to bring people together. These special events will sometimes be tailored to a specific group of people, or be open to anyone. Bring you family and your friends! Space is limited so we suggest booking your spot early to avoid last minute disappointment. These hikes are always by donation.

Come saviour the Hunter's Moon as it rises up above us in the dark night sky. We'll travel up to the summit where we'll be able to take in views of not only the moon, but Calgary in the distance, and the mountains. This hike will begin after the sun sets, so you'll need to come prepared with a headlamp. (No flashlights please). The area that we'll be in requires that you have a Kananaskis parking pass, so please make sure to take care of that in advance. The trail is 6.5km round trip, with 380 meters elevation gain, and we rate it at easy during daytime hours. This is a well established trail and is suitable for children as young as 7. There are no outhouses at the trailhead but instructions will provided as to where to find the closest facilities. Feel free to bring your family or a friend.
