Locations chosen will range in distance/elevation, with some adventures being easier than others.
Some single night adventures are LEARN TO BACKPACK. On these adventures we'll go through basic backpacking skills that you'll need to know to backpack on your own. Topics we might cover while on our adventure: map reading, picking a camp location, camp setup, bear hangs, backcountry food /water prep, wildlife safety, equipping yourself for safety and success. Each guest is encouraged to bring whatever gear they might already own; but all gear is available to rent.
Guests may bring whatever backpacking gear they already own, or we'll provide rental gear.
All guests will be required to carry some part of our group gear.
Meals...
The menu will be a blend of delicious dehydrated meals and fresh food; every guest will be able to select their meal options in advance, up until 30 days before the adventure start date. (Adventures booked within 30 days of trip start date are subject to pre-chosen meal options).
In advance of our adventure together we'll provide you with a detailed itinerary and packing list. In the weeks before our adventure we'll schedule a time to chat, just to make sure you have everything you'll need, and work out any last minute logistics.

What a Typical Day Looks Like...
Single Night
Day one we'll meet bright and early at the trailhead, where individual food/gear will be handed out, and group food/gear will be distributed between the guests. We'll help you pack your bag and set off on our epic adventure. The pace will be slow, but steady, with lots of opportunities for photos and snacks; lunch will be on the trail. Our goal is to arrive in camp late afternoon; where you'll learn how to setup your tent. Your guide will take care of all your meal prep, and clean up, allowing you ample free time to explore the immediate area, or rest and relax. After dinner you are free to retire to bed, stay up and play cards, read a book... this is your trip.
The following morning will be a relaxed wake up, with a hot breakfast, before we take down camp. After we pack up we'll be on our way; but not before we take a celebratory group photo. Once again the goal will be to arrive back to the vehicles mid afternoon, and we'll have lunch on the trail. After we arrive back, we'll collect any borrowed gear and you'll be free to go home... where you can brag that crushed your backpacking adventure.

Subsequent days will have a set wake up time, with a hot breakfast. Depending on the adventure we are on our day two will look one of two ways...
Plan A: Pack up camp and head out. Destination? New camp.
Plan B: Pack a day bag and head out on a day hike. We'll be returning to spend the night at the same camp.
On last day will begin with a hot breakfast, before we take down camp. After we pack up we'll be on our way; but not before we take a celebratory group photo. Off Grid Adventures
Technically it means we can pitch our tents anywhere; these areas might have some very basic infrastructure in more popular camping areas. There might be a few bear bins, to store our food and smelly items. Some areas have a pit toilet… or what we refer to as “the green thrones”. (These are single open air toilets, that look like giant green thrones randomly placed in the forest). It’s common to find fire rings, and places where we can put up bear hangs too, if there are no bear bins in the area. There are no picnic tables so we’ll have to bring backpacking chairs, stools, or sit pads for sitting in camp. We are allowed to have fires, barring no fire bans, but it’s up to us to scavenge for firewood.
Never backpacked of grid before? No worries! We fully expect these adventures to have an educational component to them. We will make sure you have any necessary gear in advance, and spend time honing your new skills. By the end of our adventure you will feel at one with the forest.
